My hot Grandparents

In Photography on 01/13/2011 at 12:23 am

My hot Grandparents is a Tumblr I found (click here) where people can upload vintage photographs of their Grandparents studding their stuff. I like the idea of ‘resparking’ their image on the digital world (ha), a vice for vanity our dear Grandparents didn’t get to experience. Upload some pictures of you hot Grandparent! I can’t get enough of vintage home photographs!

I recently discovered Lilly Daché, the once famed French Hollywood hat designer, when I watched Designing Women (with Gregory Peck and Lauren Bacall), her hats are now highly valuable vintage collectibles. In 1940 she won the Neiman Marcus Fashion Award for her interestingly designed and high in demand couture hats.

I found some of these ‘homoerotic’ photographs on Flickr (click here to see the set). You can definitely see where artist Tom of Finland got his inspiration!

Photographer Melvin Sokolsky is most famous for these ‘bubble’ and flying images that he was commissioned for by Harper’s Bizarre in the 1960’s.
