Bacon v. Coke

In Food on 03/30/2010 at 11:01 pm

Bacon… one of my most favorite foods in the world. Forget cake, pancakes, waffles, cupcakes, and cookies… gimme bacon!

An unfortunate and unnecessary discovery has been revealed by medical scientists that fatty foods like cheesecake, different cheeses, and BACON have a similar addictive effect on the brain as cocaine and heroin (hence maybe my addiction to this glorious food).

The Price of Beauty

In Television on 03/30/2010 at 6:30 pm

Has anyone seen it? Jessica Simpson’s latest VH1 show, The Price of Beauty, aired last Monday as she explores the world (with her kinda-cute gay hair stylist) to expose the harsh realities women endure to achieve a false sense of beauty. I think the show’s a good idea as it brings light to a very widespread issue… but, honestly, does Jessica Simpson need to be the person talking to me about this? I guessing she lost her contract with Proactive.

As we all know, Jessica Simpson gained a little weight two years ago. Tabloids were all over it, which, yeah, none of their business, but they’re going to do it anyway. Apparently, this made her extremely self-conscious (obviously). So now, because she felt a little self-conscious she has another show (just as how when she got married she got a show, so I’m expecting even when she dies she’ll have her own show). A lot of the scene when Jessica Simpson is talking to the camera about her she feels, you can notice that she’s not wearing any makeup to continue with this idea of ‘you don’t have to wear makeup to look pretty.’ But really… you know she runs into the bathroom afterward and grabs her mascara, lips gloss, and OF COURSE her Proactive.

All in all, good idea for a show, but we could do without Jessica Simpson.

Buh-Bye V-Necks, Hello Crewnecks

In fashion, Marlon Brando on 03/30/2010 at 1:34 pm

My beloved v-necks are not making the cut as crewnecks are back in style and glorifying their the former 1950’s condition (I will really miss v-necks, who doesn’t love a nice deep v?). Marlon Brando was the example given in this month’s Details Magazine of how this summer’s crewnecks should look on the everyday American male. Sleeve length is supposed to end at the beginning of the bicep to glorify male form and the bottom of the shirt is supposed hang just over the belt line (not too long, not too short).

While we’re on the topic of Marlon Brando, has anyone seen the picture of him (or picture rumored to be him) giving head? Click here to see the image.

Well… I wasn’t surprised.

In Celebrities, Gay on 03/30/2010 at 12:17 pm

We all knew this was coming (if you didn’t you’re probably blind and deaf). I felt like a kid from my high school FINALLY came out, one who you always suspected to be gay. Well ladies and gentlemen, Ricky Martin is now saying ‘I am a homosexual man.’ I for one, can predict this years gay pride will be bigger and better as Ricky Martin’s coming out is not something that should go uncelebrated.

Now after collecting the public’s attention it would be a shame for Mr. Martin not to release a new album as every gay man in this country would be lining up at FYE, Best Buy, and eagerly loading iTunes to download the latest Latin Pop tunes. I look forward to it, Ricky, this summers dance tunes better be great!

HBO’s Mildred Pierce

In Film on 03/29/2010 at 10:14 am

Finally! More information on HBO’s five hour mini-series Mildred Pierce! According to seattlepi.com production will begin in April staring Kate Winslet who is replacing mah fav. classic Hollywood actress, Joan Crawford, which was Crawford’s most iconic role as a housewife that makes good. Co-staring with Crawford is Thirteen’s Evan Rachel Wood to play Veda Pierce (Winslet’s daughter) and Guy Pearce as Monty Beragon. So far, this movie sounds fantastic, I really think they’re selecting cast members that will do this class 1940’s film noir picture justice.

Workout Music

In Music on 03/27/2010 at 1:35 pm

I don’t know about you guys, but when I am working out I need really good music to keep me motivated and focused (also I hate the sound of cardio machines and my breathing… weird, I know). DOES ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE GOOD SUGGESTIONS? I have looked and looked online I have even typed in ‘Gay workout music’ because MAYBE straight guys and gay guys have completely different tastes when working out… which they do. The average straight guy, I found, typically enjoys Creed, Eminem, and other loud obnoxious tunes. The gays (I can say that, I’m gay) enjoy busting moves to Tina Turner, late 70’s hits, and early Pink… all of which don’t really get me going in the gym.

Here’s what I have been listening to recently, I’m getting sick of it though and NEED suggestions-

Video Phone by Beyonce

Rude Boy by Rihanna

In for the Kill by Le Roux

Day Job by The Fitness

Perfect by Mason and Princess Superstar

Bad Romance and Telephone by Lady Gaga

Let Me Think About It by Ida Corr

Suggestion please!
